2026 rideau family reunion

What began as a celebration of the RIDEAU family in Lebeau, Louisiana, became an opportunity for me to explore the history and genealogical connections of several Louisiana Creole families whose roots extend across generations. Through historical documents, family photographs, and personal experiences, I share the remarkable connections between the RIDEAU, DONATO, LAFLEUR, and other families whose ancestors helped shape the communities along Highway 71. This reunion was more than a family gathering. It was a reminder of the importance of preserving our family histories, honoring our ancestors, and connecting their living descendants.
