Alex Genealogy at the 2026 Black Houston(s) Symposium

Alex Genealogy, LLC is proud to announce that Alex D. Lee, Sr. will be presenting at the 2026 Black Houston(s) Symposium, A League of Our Own: Sports and Embodiment.

Taking place in Houston, Texas, this multi-day symposium brings together scholars, researchers, and cultural practitioners exploring the intersections of movement, identity, and memory across the Black diaspora.

Alex will present on Thursday, March 26, 2026, as part of the panel:

“Our Bodies Keep the Score: Movement & Collective Memory in the Diaspora”

His paper, “Bodies in Motion, Voices in Memory: Genealogy, Sport, and Sound in the Post-Antebellum Black Gulf Coast Diaspora,” examines how lineage, embodied movement, and sonic traditions preserve and transmit cultural memory across generations.
