About

I’m Alex D. Lee, Sr. I Help Families Reconnect and Reclaim Their History.

Alex D. Lee, Sr. is a nationally recognized genealogist and historical researcher with over fifteen years of experience uncovering and preserving the ancestral legacies of Southwest Louisiana. As the CEO of AlexGenealogy and Founder and President of the nonprofit Southwest Louisiana Genealogy Researchers (SWLGR), Alex has dedicated his life to connecting families with their roots and reclaiming the stories of their ancestors. His deep expertise in early Louisiana history has led to the identification of hundreds of formerly enslaved individuals and the tracing of their lineage to living descendants; work that has brought healing, pride, and a sense of belonging to countless families.

Alex has amassed one of the most extensive private collections of family photographs, oral histories, and archival records dating back to the 1800s. His groundbreaking research has been featured in ESPN, Sports Illustrated, Kreole Magazine, and multiple regional newspapers. He has also appeared in national and local media, including NBC, Sirius XM, and the television series Swamp Mysteries, bringing visibility to the rich and complex history of Creole and African American communities in Louisiana.

With a passion for truth and cultural preservation, Alex Lee continues to be a leading voice in the movement to document and honor Black heritage in America.
