If you are stuck on a single ancestor, uncertain about a relationship, or need confirmation before moving forward, the Brick Wall Consultation provides focused clarity—without excess exploration.

The Family Tree Consultation is a one-hour virtual session designed to review the structure, accuracy, and direction of your existing family tree.

This service is ideal for individuals who have already begun their research and want professional insight before investing further time or resources.

What this consultation includes

• Review of your current family tree and lineage structure

• Identification of inaccuracies, gaps, or unsupported connections

• Guidance on best practices for documentation and sourcing

• Strategic recommendations for next research steps

This consultation is required prior to most extended research services and ensures that all future work is built on a solid foundation.

Family History Foundation & Virtual Walkthrough | 30 Minutes (Virtual)

The AlexGenealogy Family Tree Start-Up Package is designed for individuals and families who are beginning their genealogy journey. This package focuses on building a documented foundation for your family history by identifying and organizing the first generations of your ancestral line. This service includes the creation of a structured Ancestry family tree and a short genealogical report summarizing the findings.

What the Package Includes:

• Ancestry Family Tree Development

• Creation of a family tree on Ancestry

• Documentation of up to three generations

• Focus on one surname Genealogical Summary Report

• A two-page genealogy report summarizing the research discoveries and documentation located during the process

Family Presentation

• A 30-minute Zoom presentation to review the discoveries and explain the findings with the client and/or family members

Documentation Standards

All information included within the family tree will be supported by historical documentation whenever possible, and any information provided by the client will be reviewed and verified for authenticity.

A Family Tree Consultation or DNA Consultation must be completed prior to the start of any genealogy research services.

DNA Consultation

Match Analysis & Lineage Insight | One Hour (Virtual)

The DNA Consultation is a one-hour virtual session focused on helping you understand and organize your genetic matches in relation to your family history goals.

This service is designed for individuals who have completed a consumer DNA test and are seeking clarity on how their results align—or conflict—with their documented lineage.

What this consultation includes

• Review of your DNA match landscape

• Guidance on identifying meaningful versus incidental matches

• Assistance organizing matches for genealogical use

• Insight into how DNA supports or challenges existing research

A valid DNA test is required for this consultation. The DNA Consultation is a prerequisite for advanced genetic genealogy services.
